Missing White Girl

Synopsis: Seven years earlier, a body of a missing girl was fished out of the Ashokan Reservoir in Ulster County, New York. The victim was 17 year old Jenny McHugh.  The story never made the front page news of anything but the local papers. Charlotte O’Connor, a reporter turned True Crime writer, is on her way to investigate this case that did not catch the public’s attention for her upcoming book “Missing White Girl.” She wants to figure out why some cases catch our attention and others do not.  She shows up in a small upstate town, in the days before the convicted killer (Owen Buchanan) is released from prison. This gives Charlotte a unique perspective for her book to interview him and others surrounding the case. This case offers her a unique opportunity (as some cold cases do not) to talk to all the players: the arresting sheriff, the townspeople, the family of the victim, the family of the convicted killer and of course the convicted killer himself. It’s a modern day “In Cold Blood”.
